Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Warehouse Operator at our Altavista, VA facility to manage material flow and finished goods within the Nutrition manufacturing site. You will work in a fast-paced environment that emphasizes safety, accuracy, and on-time shipments.

As part of the Abbott Nutrition Supply Chain team, you will operate a forklift, use Cambar RF systems, and ensure proper FIFO practices while maintaining inventory records and warehouse cleanliness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Preferred: Previous forklift experience.
• Familiarity with inventory control and RF systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate timely and accurate flow of materials from warehouse inventory to desired areas.
• Coordinate timely accurate flow of finished products to support shipments to customers and other destinations.
• Responsible for loading and unloading of material with the use of a forklift.
• Via use of Cambar RF inventory system, store, pick, or assemble finished product for shipment.
• Understand and properly utilize ship orders and associated warehouse paperwork and RF terminals for shipping/receiving finished product.
• Maintain proper FIFO flow of finished products and operate a forklift truck with a reach attachment.
• Store, pick or assemble finished goods within the warehouse, verifying item number, quantity, release status, and lot number.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Coordinate timely and accurate flow of materials from warehouse inventory to desired areas
• Coordinate timely accurate flow of finished products to support shipments to customers and other destinations
• Responsible for loading and unloading of material with the use of a forklift
• Via use of Cambar radio frequency inventory system, the employee stores, picks, or assembles finished product for shipment
• Understand and properly utilize ship orders and associated warehouse paperwork and RF terminals for shipping/receiving finished product.
• Maintain proper FIFO flow of finished products. Includes operation of a forklift truck with a push-pull attachment (reach forklift)
• Store, pick or assemble finished goods within the warehouse, verifying the item number, quantity, release status, and lot number. Check materials against packaging lists, invoices, freight bills or other pertinent documentation to assure conformity and accuracy
• Utilize knowledge of finished product nomenclature and procedures
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and of the finished goods warehouse
• Maintain accurate records and reconciles inventory errors
• All other tasks as assigned by management to meet the needs of the business
