Job summary

Georgia-Pacific Corp. in Sweetwater, TX is seeking a Forklift Operator to join our facility. You will operate forklift to load product, perform quality checks, and maintain clean work areas while meeting safety, production, and quality targets.

Qualified candidates have at least six months of continuous employment; forklift experience is a plus. The team works in a dynamic industrial environment with exposure to heat, cold, dust, and noise. Training provided.

Qualifications

• At least six (6) months of continuous employment.
• Forklift experience (6+ months) preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments (6+ months).

Responsibilities

• Work as a team to meet and exceed safety, production, and quality goals.
• Perform quality checks and tarp trailers; keep designated work area clean.
• Operate forklift to defined standards and product targets.
• Perform housekeeping duties in the Warehouse/Shipping area.
• Load product with zero defects in a timely manner and communicate with OTR drivers.
• Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Climb stairs/rail ladders and work at elevated heights.
• Work in hot, cold, humid, and noisy environments.
• Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, sitting and/or pulling for up to 12 hours a day.
• Work around dust, oil, grease, chemicals, and other substances.
• Adhere to safety rules and wear PPE.

Georgia Pacific is looking for Forklift Operators to join our facility in Sweetwater, TX.

Compensation:
$27.00/hour

What You Will Do

• Work as a team to meet and exceed safety, production, and quality goals
• Perform quality checks, tarp trailers and keep designated work area clean throughout shift
• Operate equipment to defined standards and product specification targets
• Perform housekeeping duties in the Warehouse/Shipping area
• Ensure customer needs are met by operating a forklift to load product with zero defects, in a timely manner Communicating with OTR (over the road) truck drivers
• Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50lbs
• Climb stairs/rail ladders regularly and work at elevated heights
• Work in an industrial environment that is hot, cold, humid, and noisy
• Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, sitting and/or pulling for up to 12 hours a day
• Work around dust, oil, grease, chemicals, and other substances
• Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing required PPE

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• At least six (6) months of continuous employment

What Will Put You Ahead

• At least six (6) months of experience operating a forklift
• A minimum of six (6) months of working experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Experience using a computer in an industrial, manufacturing or military environment
