Job summary

New-Indy Containerboard is seeking a Forklift Operator to load, unload, and move materials within the facility in Hickory, NC. The role requires operating a forklift safely, performing inspections, and ensuring timely delivery of stock to machines while maintaining quality standards.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent and forklift certification per OSHA. Prior corrugated manufacturing experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience in corrugated industry is a plus.
• Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
• Knowledge of material-handling equipment is an asset.
• Prior work experience as a forklift operator is preferred.
• Knowledge of product quality specifications.
• Understanding equipment design/capabilities improves efficiency.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Forklift certification per OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate powered industrial trucks to load/unload materials and move them to storage, machines and docks.
• Perform forklift inspections before shifts and report maintenance needs.
• Locate stock prior to runs and deliver to machines safely and on time.
• Verify product quality against standards and complete paperwork accurately.
• Follow daily production schedule; suggest schedule optimizations for cost/quality/delivery.
• Prepare and submit production and safety reports as required.
