Job summary

Detroit Manufacturing Systems (DMS) seeks a Hilo Driver to operate powered industrial trucks safely in our Detroit facility. You will move, locate, relocate and stack product, load and unload trucks, and assist with pickup/pack for shipment.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in a production or manufacturing setting, hold a valid PIT permit, and can work any shift with overtime. We value detail, teamwork and a proactive approach to safety and process improvement.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience in production/manufacturing.
  • Valid Powered Industrial Truck permit.
  • Ability to work any shift and overtime.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective problem solving and decision making.
  • Self-motivated and task oriented.
  • Strong teamwork and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Safe and efficient operation of all power operated equipment that requires certification.
  • Safe and efficient movement of product; including loading and unloading trucks.
  • Accurately pick and pack items for shipment with a forklift.
  • Work with inventory control on correct product placement.
  • Complete required paperwork and project time-tracking documentation.
  • Adhere to housekeeping and visual management standards (5S).
  • Adhere to health and safety requirements and procedures.
  • Update supervisor and team lead on issues or concerns.
  • Participate in process improvement by communicating to supervisor and/or team lead.
  • Perform other duties as requested by supervisor or department manager.
