Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Forklift Operator for our receiving/production area in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role includes operating forklifts, setting up machines, reading blueprints, and ensuring quality while following safety procedures.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of hands-on setup and operation of manual mills and lathes, plus proficiency with micrometers, calipers, and basic G/M codes. Training on forklifts and cranes is provided. This is a full-time, day-shift position.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on setup and operation of manual mills and lathes.
• Proficient with precision metrology (micrometers, calipers, depth gauges) and angle/radius gauges.
• Ability to sweep in a mill head/vice and compensate for runout on a lathe.
• Understand feeds/speeds and basic G/M codes (for interpreting operations).
• Set up jobs independently with or without formal documentation.
• Nice to Have: Broaching experience; exposure to Fanuc, Haas, or Hurco controls; basic programming experience.
• Ability to complete forklift and overhead crane training; strong safety mindset; reliable team player.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual mills and lathes to machine stainless and other metals.
• Use micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, angle/radius gauges with precision tolerances.
• Read/interpret blueprints; identify potential drawing errors and suggest corrections.
• Sweep in mill heads/vises; compensate for runout on lathes.
• Set up jobs with or without documentation, optimizing feeds/speeds and tooling selection.
• Assist in troubleshooting equipment and process issues to maintain quality and throughput.
• Perform basic material handling; complete forklift and overhead crane training.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and quality standards in a busy manufacturing shop.
