Job summary

XPO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Forklift Operator to safely sort, handle, load and unload palletized freight on a dock. Use pallet jack and forklift, and scan shipments with handheld devices; work in a non climate-controlled environment.

Afternoons 4pm-9pm shift; pay range $22.85–$28.10 per hour with annual step progression. Benefits available for those working 30+ hours weekly. This is a Motor Carrier Act Exempt position.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to perform basic math with or without a calculator.
• Available for a variety of shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
• Preferred: dock/warehouse experience in transportation.
• Forklift experience in freight/LTL environment.
• Experience loading and unloading trailers.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently sort, handle, load and unload palletized and non-palletized freight.
• Use appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including pallet jack and forklift.
• Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies.
• Work in a safe, efficient manner, adhering to company safety policies.
• Use mobile handheld devices to scan and track shipments.
• Work on a dock that is not climate-controlled for extended periods.

What you’ll need to succeed as a Forklift Operator at XPO

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Able to do basic math calculations, with and without a calculator
• Available to work a variety of shifts due to varying freight volumes, including days, evenings, nights and weekends

Preferred qualifications:

• Dock or warehouse experience in the transportation industry
• Forklift experience in a freight or less-than-truckload (LTL) environment
• Experience loading and unloading trailers
• Strong attention to detail and desire to succeed

Pay, benefits and more:

• Expected pay range: $22.85 to $28.10 per hour. Pay is on an annual step progression. Actual compensation may vary due to factors such as experience and skill set
• Afternoon Shift, Day/Hours: 4pm-9pm

Forklift Operators are required to:

• Lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes and weights (frequently up to 50 lbs. and occasionally greater than 70 lbs.)
• Safely walk and stand for extended periods on a loading dock that is not climate-controlled and may be slippery
• Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel as necessary
