Job summary

Contech Engineered Solutions in Abingdon, VA is hiring a Forklift Operator to support daily production and shipping. You will perform pre- and post-shift audits, operate the forklift to build loads, and keep accurate production records. The position requires outdoor work and a strong work ethic with impeccable attendance.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, production or distribution.
• Forklift operation certification preferred.
• Ability to operate forklift safely.
• Willingness to work outdoors | open-air environments.

Responsibilities

• Complete pre- and post-shift daily audits and maintain the forklift's daily safety checklist.
• Operate forklift to build loads by assembling product into bundles and complete detailed paperwork for each load.
• Assist with material handling to ensure raw materials and finished goods are stored in the proper location.
• Prepare lumber for dunnage use, operate saws and nail guns with precision.
• Regularly fuel and maintain forklift and ensure it is parked in designated areas at the end of each day.
• Record and turn in production records as required.
• Keep yard area in a neat and orderly condition by organizing strapping, boards, stringers, and more.
