Job Location: Green Industrial Supply, Inc. – DUBUQUE, IA 52002, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: High School, Travel Percentage: None, Job Shift: Day, Job Category: Warehouse.

The Forklift Operator Order Picker supports the Company’s operations by accurately preparing, packaging, and shipping outbound materials in accordance with customer requirements, carrier standards, and company procedures. This position plays a key role in maintaining product accuracy, shipment quality, and a safe, organized work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Pick, pack, and prepare outbound orders according to shipping instructions and customer specifications.
  • Use mobile scanning devices to pull parts out of the inventory system.
  • Verify product accuracy, quantities, and documentation prior to shipment.
  • Stage and load outbound shipments safely and in compliance with company procedures.
  • Inspect outgoing materials for damage, defects, or inconsistencies and report issues promptly.
  • Generate and apply shipping labels, bills of lading, and other required paperwork.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area, including packaging supplies and staging zones.
  • Conduct basic equipment inspections and ensure equipment is in proper working condition; report issues promptly.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to meet productivity, quality, and safety standards.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and accident prevention guidelines while on company property or operating equipment.
  • Operate forklifts and other company vehicles in accordance with training and certification requirements.
  • Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and general warehouse tasks as assigned.
  • Communicate shipment delays, discrepancies, or concerns to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Cross‑train in other shipping functions and assist other departments as needed.
  • Complete required documentation, reports, and inventory records accurately and on time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Work is performed in a fast‑paced, climate‑controlled warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects and operate tools or controls.
  • Reach with hands and arms.
  • Communicate clearly in person, by phone, and electronically.
  • Stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch as required by tasks.
  • Lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately pick and pull orders.
  • Basic computer skills for label creation and shipment documentation.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other departments.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and work instructions.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Preferred:

  • Prior forklift experience or certification.
  • Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
  • Familiarity with UPS, FedEx, or LTL freight systems.
  • Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS).
