Job summary

ALCOM in Winslow, ME is seeking a Forklift Operator to safely move materials and finished goods across our manufacturing facility. The role emphasizes accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to safety standards.

The position requires forklift certification, inventory system proficiency, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, highly customized factory environment. Compensation is $20.00–$23.00 per hour with benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to work with inventory systems and MS Office.
• Effective memory skills.
• Experience with warehouse and materials flow in a fast-paced, highly customized factory.
• Experience in inbound freight department management preferred.
• Forklift trained (certification required).
• Ability to follow directions & a strong willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts and powered industrial trucks in accordance with company policies and OSHA requirements.
• Transport materials, parts, and finished products between production areas, warehouses, and shipping locations.
• Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
• Supply production lines with required materials to prevent downtime.
• Verify quantities and inspect materials for damage before moving or storing.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through proper material handling and documentation.
• Scan products and complete required transactions in inventory management systems.
• Organize and maintain storage locations using established inventory procedures.
• Conduct daily forklift inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Assist with cycle counts and physical inventories as required.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
• Support shipping, receiving, and production teams as needed.
• Follow all company safety policies, quality requirements, and operating procedures.
