Job summary

Ingeteam in Milwaukee, WI seeks a Material Handler to move materials within the facility using appropriate equipment and to support production and shipping/receiving teams. You will follow lean manufacturing and 6S principles to maintain clean, organized production and inventory areas.

• Load and unload materials from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves.
• Safely move materials and place them in correct locations.
• Provide production with needed materials from inventory.
• Maintain equipment and materials in a safe, clean, working order; report defects.
• Open packages and containers using cutters and tools.
• Coordinate with supply chain, quality and production to meet company needs.
• Notify Lead/Supervisor if inventory is insufficient.
• Follow plans and schedules set by Lead/Supervisor.
• Follow 6S and lean principles to optimize space and keep areas clean and organized.
• Support Shipping/Receiving and production areas as needed.
• Adhere to quality, safety, and environmental standards and procedures.
• Comply with all company policies and rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including housekeeping.
• Be punctual at shift start and break times.

Job description

• Load and unload material onto and from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves.
• Safely move materials and place in correct location.
• Supply production area with needed materials from inventory.
• Keep material handling equipment and materials in a safe, clean and working order. Inform management of any equipment defects or maintenance needs.
• Opens packages and containers using cutters and other tools.
• Work with the supply chain, quality and production departments to ensure needs of the company are being met.
• Advise Lead/Supervisor if the inventory to carry out the process are not sufficient.
• Follow the plan and schedule defined by the Lead/Supervisor.
• Follow instructions to keep and follow 6S methodology. Use lean manufacturing principles to obtain the most efficient use of space and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the production and inventory areas.
• Provide support to Shipping/Receiving and production areas when needed.
• Ensure tasks are performed according to organizational requirements for quality management and environmental, health and safety standards, policies and procedures.
• Comply with all company policies, procedures and rules.
• Complete other duties and work in other areas as assigned by the Company, whether or not trained in that area. This includes performing housekeeping tasks.
• Be at your workstation on time at the beginning of shift, and when the shift/break bell rings at the start and end of breaks.
