NFI is seeking a Forklift Operator II in Manteno, Illinois to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise in a warehouse. You’ll operate multiple forklift types, perform order filling, and support inventory control while upholding safety and productivity standards.

Responsibilities include pre-op inspections, safe unloading, staging for outbound loads, and accurate order picking. Candidates should have 2+ years forklift experience and pass NFI certification; base pay ranges from $20.75

Overview

The Forklift Operator II is responsible for operating material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise within a warehouse environment. The Operator ensures safe and efficient operation of multiple types of forklift equipment and may also perform order filler or order checker duties as needed, while maintaining productivity, accuracy, and adherence to safety procedures. Employees in this position must spend fifty percent or more of their work time operating these forklifts as part of their core job duties.

Responsibilities

• Operates all material handling equipment safely and efficiently, following established work practices and safety procedures
• Possesses basic understanding of equipment safety and adheres to all safety protocols
• Completes and documents required pre-operation inspection forms for equipment
• Stacks and stores merchandise in designated rack locations
• Unloads inbound shipments safely and transports product to assigned storage locations
• Pulls, stages, and prepares products for outbound shipment
• Verifies that the correct quantity and product type are loaded and shipped
• Performs order picking in an accurate, timely, and customer-service-focused manner
• Moves product from staging or storage areas into trailers for outbound loadsMaintains required documentation and reports to support inventory accuracy and product security
• Assists with physical inventory counts and periodic cycle counts as directed
• Ensures inventory is rotated in accordance with company standards
• Identifies and reports inventory discrepancies to the inventory control team and participates in resolution
• Uses RF scanning devices to support accurate inventory management
• Reports safety concerns, hazards, or incidents to management promptly
• Demonstrates basic Excel skills and general computer proficiency to complete required tasks
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the role and determined by management

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Preferred 2 plus years of experience of forklift operation experience and/or experience using warehouse distribution equipment
• Must qualify and pass NFI forklift certification
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective customer service skills and basic math competencies
• We are excited to share the base hourly rate for this position is $20.75 HOUR to $22.75 we are hiring for multiple shifts. NFI takes into consideration applicants' qualifications, experience, education, geographic location, when determining a starting rate of pay. This position may also be eligible for an additional $X/HOUR based on shift work.
