Job summary

TAKKION is seeking a Forklift Operator Laborer to join our on-site team. The role involves heavy physical labor, assisting skilled workers, and supporting site operations with material handling and safety practices.

The candidate should have a high school diploma (preferred) and be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work extended hours when required. Background checks and drug screening are required.

Responsibilities

• Unload materials and distribute to designated locations.

• Direct traffic in and around work zones and assist with equipment movements.
• Prepare and maintain layout areas for lifting, storage, and construction activities.
• Keep work areas clean and safe; comply with safety policies and PPE usage.
• Perform other duties as assigned by site leadership.

We are looking for a hard-working and flexible candidate to join our Team as a Forklift Operator Laborer. You'll get to work with skilled workers and strong field leadership. Our laborers perform a wide range of physical labor tasks in support of the site.

Job Responsibilities

• Participates in daily safety meeting.
• Participate in Job Safety Analysis
• Assist skilled workers as assigned. This may include responsibilities such as rigging, tagline duty, spotter duty, carrying lumber and materials.
• Unloads materials that are delivered such as boxes, pallets, lumber, posts, bags of cement, and other consumables and distributes them to appropriate locations as identified by a supervisor, project plans, or specifications.
• Assists in preparing layout area where lifting and handling, storage, and ground clearing operations will take place.
• Prepares layout area where construction will take place by properly measuring, marking, or recording openings or distances.
• Prepares tools and materials for skilled workers.
• Cleans and prepares specific areas of jobsite as assigned, this may include digging trenches; cleaning up debris and trash; or removing hazardous materials.
• Operates a wide variety of hand and power tools.
• Directs traffic near, in, or around work zones.
• Signals equipment operator to assist with alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials.
• Performs housekeeping of work area and site location.
• Performs other job-related duties.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma preferred
• At least one year of related crane and rigging field experience preferred.
• At least one year of experience working around heavy equipment preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods in potential extreme weather.
• Must be able to frequently climb up and down a ladder for heights up to 20 feet while possibly carrying loads.
• Must be able to enter and exit tight areas for purpose of rigging loads.
• Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment.
• Must be able to work beyond normal operating hours as determined by business demands.
