Job summary

NFI Industries in Carlisle, PA is hiring a Forklift Operator I to support warehouse operations on the 2nd shift (4pm–12:30am). You will operate forklift equipment, perform light order filling, verify loads, and help maintain inventory accuracy while following safety procedures.

The role requires basic Excel skills, attention to detail, and customer service awareness. Qualified candidates will complete a forklift certification and participate in periodic cycle counts as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Preferred 6 months of forklift operation experience and/or experience using warehouse distribution equipment.
• Must qualify and pass NFI forklift certification.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective customer service skills and basic math competencies.

Responsibilities

• Operate all material handling equipment safely and efficiently per procedures.
• Perform pre-operation inspection forms for equipment.
• Stack and store merchandise using forklift, clamp, or push-pull equipment.
• Unload inbound shipments and move products to storage locations.
• Pull and prepare products for shipment according to requirements.
• Verify quantity and product type for loads.
• Perform order picking accurately and promptly.
• Move products from staging areas into trailers for outbound loads.
• Maintain documentation supporting inventory accuracy and security.
• Assist with physical inventory counts and cycle counts as directed.
• Ensure inventory rotation per company standards.
• Identify and report inventory discrepancies to inventory control.
• Use RF scanning devices to support inventory management.
• Report safety concerns or incidents to management promptly.

Overview

The Forklift Operator I is responsible for operating material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise within the warehouse. The Operator ensures the safe and efficient use of forklifts and may also perform order filler or order checker duties as needed, while maintaining productivity, accuracy, and adherence to safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• 2nd shift - Monday thru Friday 4pm to 12:30
• Operates all material handling equipment safely and efficiently, following established work practices and safety procedures
• Possesses basic understanding of equipment safety and adheres to all safety protocols
• Completes and documents required pre-operation inspection forms for equipment
• Stacks and stores merchandise in designated areas using forklift, clamp, or push-pull equipment
• Unloads inbound shipments safely and moves product to storage locations
• Pulls and prepares products for shipment in accordance with customer and operational requirements
• Verifies that the correct quantity and product type are loaded and shipped
• Performs order picking in an accurate, timely, and customer-service-focused manner
• Moves product from staging or storage areas into trailers for outbound loads
• Maintains required documentation and reports to support inventory accuracy and product security
• Assists with physical inventory counts and periodic cycle counts as directed
• Ensures inventory is rotated in accordance with company standards
• Identifies and reports inventory discrepancies to the inventory control team and participates in resolution
• Uses RF scanning devices to support accurate inventory management
• Reports safety concerns, hazards, or incidents to management promptly
• Demonstrates basic Excel skills and general computer proficiency to complete required tasks
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the role and determined by management
