Job summary

Adler Pelzer Group in Salem, VA seeks a Shipping Receiving Fork Lift Operator (2nd shift) to support manufacturing of automotive components. Forklift experience required; duties include moving materials, verifying shipments, and maintaining inventory flow to keep production running.

Candidates should read work instructions, follow IATF standards, lift up to 25 pounds, and be prepared for overtime including weekends.

Qualifications

Knowledge of inventory (FIFO) procedures.
Ability to read and comprehend operational work instructions.
Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds overhead as needed.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to work necessary overtime, which may include weekend work.
Adheres to applicable IATF requirements.

Responsibilities

Follows operational procedures for activities, such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments and handling and disposition of materials.
Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment and informs supervisor for repairs.
Ensures forklift truck is safe to operate by checking safety items and completing forklift check sheet at shift start.
Maintains stock flow to enable production to run and rotate inventory FIFO.
Supports team objectives and keeps good housekeeping in the plant.
