Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Warehouse Operator for 2nd shift (Tue–Sat, 12:00 PM–8:30 PM; morning start 8:00 AM). The role focuses on movement of products within the warehouse using material handling equipment. A valid external qualification/license is typically required.

Typical titles include Forklift operator, Equipment Operator, MHE Operator. The position offers full benefits and is based in the United States, California, Hayward.

Qualifications

• Experience operating material handling equipment in a warehouse environment.
• Externally accredited forklift/MHE qualification.
• Ability to read manifests and follow detailed instructions.
• Attention to safety and regulatory guidelines (OSHA/TSA).

Responsibilities

• Pull routes using manifests, stage freight, and assist drivers to load/unload trucks.
• Perform picking, packing, scanning, and other warehouse duties as needed.
• Ensure timeliness, packaging, and systems accuracy.
• Identify and annotate overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D).
• Safely operate warehouse equipment (forklift, pallet jacks, etc.).
• Read and follow detailed instructions in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain safe work environment following TSA/OSHA guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary

Role requires the skills and experience to operate/drive manual handling equipment in accordance with local legislation. These roles will mostly require an externally accredited qualification/license.

Responsibilities

• Utilizing manifest to pull route, stage freight, and assist Drivers to load and unload trucks
• Material handling may include one or more of the following: picking, packing, scanning, kitting (as applicable), counting products and other like duties
• Must ensure timeliness, packaging, and systems work is completed accurately
• Identifying and annotating overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D)
• Safely operate warehouse equipment, such as forklift, pallet jacks, etc.
• Read and follow detailed and defined instructions in a fast‑paced environment
• Ensure safe and secure work environment including all TSA and OSHA guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned

Pay Range

$23.00 per hour

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
