Job summary

Lineage is seeking a forklift operator in Hart, MI to move products and materials using electric-powered forklifts. The role requires adherence to safety standards and involves using an RF system to log weights and counts.

Schedule is Mon-Fri with some weekends, shift 5:30pm–2am, and overtime during busy seasons. Pay ranges from $18 to $20 per hour, with benefits including medical, dental, and 401k options.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills required.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in the official language or as defined by Lineage Logistics.
• Ability to work in cold storage temperatures and in dry storage with PPE.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends.
• Comfortable with varying noise levels.

Responsibilities

• Operate electric-powered forklifts to move products and materials.
• Record weight, counts, and conditions of items using an RF system.
• Complete daily forklift maintenance/checks.
• Lead safety inspections and follow safety procedures.
• Coordinate with semi-truck drivers to ensure safety.
• Maintain and charge batteries and return equipment to charging station.
• Assist with loading/unloading and material handling as needed.

Job description

Schedule: Mon‑Fri (Some weekends, please be advised)

Shift: 5:30pm‑2am (Overtime as needed, during busy season)

Pay: $18‑20

Use electric‑powered industrial trucks with lifting devices to move products, equipment, and materials while following all regulatory and company safety standards, policies, and procedures. Ensure proper loading and unloading of materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting devices.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

• Position forks, lifting platform, or other lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials, transports, load and unload to a designated area
• List materials and record weight, counts, and condition of frozen food items via a Radio Frequency (RF) system
• Complete daily forklift maintenance/check sheet
• Lead safety inspections on truck chalking and glad‑hand process
• Communicate with semi‑truck drivers to ensure safety precautions
• Monitor battery charge, maintain, and clean batteries, and leave material handling equipment at the proper charging station

Minimum Requirements (knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

• Basic math skills
• Ability to understand instructions in the country's official language or as defined by Lineage Logistics
• Ability to work in temperatures as low as –20 °F / –25 °C in cold storage sites or up to 100 °F / 37 °C in dry storage sites while wearing company‑provided personal protective equipment and freezer gear
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs / 18 kgs; weight may be more dependent upon facility
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule and shift, including weekends if needed
• Must be comfortable with various noise levels, at times, can be loud
