Job description

Sika is looking for an experienced Machine Operator to join its growing team in Gastonia, NC.

This position will assist the shift supervisor in coordinating the work of production employees involved in production activities. Requires knowledge of manufacturing processes and products. Operates manufacturing line. Requires the ability to vary prescribed operating conditions as necessary to produce quality parts. Changes and adjusts operating conditions to maintain proper quality.

Other Duties include:

  • Review daily production schedules with the team lead to prepare for upcoming changes; develop a plan in coordination with the team lead to support production.
  • Continuously seek areas or processes for improvement.
  • Provide lines with needed materials using stand-up or sit-down forklifts.
  • Unload or load trucks as needed.
  • Assist lines in packing parts as needed.
Preferred Skills

Preferred Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 months to 1 year of related manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of the metric system, computer literate, able to operate a forklift, and able to read and write
