Job summary

Modular Mission Critical, the manufacturing campus for M.C. Dean’s modular product line, seeks a Forklift Operator to move, load, and stage materials daily at our Richmond, VA facility.

You will operate forklift and pallet jack, record numbers, and ensure secure freight handling while maintaining safety and organization. Ideal candidates will have at least a high school diploma and 3+ years of related experience, capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, and able to work in varying weather and

• High school diploma or GED required; 3+ years forklift experience preferred.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varied weather conditions.
• Basic math and data entry skills for inventory tracking.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift and pallet jack daily.
• Enter model, serial, and manufacturer numbers into the system as needed.
• Return materials to storage in an orderly and timely manner.
• Secure freight during loading/unloading and while in transit.
• Protect materials from weather and damage during handling.
• Communicate with customers via email or phone in a timely and professional manner.
• Read and count accurately during receiving, shipping, or internal audits.
• Keep workstations and warehouse clean and organized.
• Weigh shipments before leaving the warehouse and record weights.
• Assist other departments as required.

We are looking for a hard-working, dedicated Forklift Operator to operate various machines and vehicles equipped with blades to remove, distribute, level, and grade earth. The ideal candidate will be willing to work flexible hours in harsh conditions, such as heat, cold, rain, and snow, while maintaining a professional and courteous image while in the presence of customers and their representatives.

Responsibilities

• Operating forklift and pallet jack on a daily basis.
• Identify and enter into DWS model, serial and manufactures numbers on material as needed.
• Put material away in a neat and timely manner.
• Secure freight in or on various types of vehicles.
• Protect material from weather and damage while being transported.
• Answer questions either through email or phone calls in a timely and professional manner.
• Must be able to read and count correctly while receiving, shipping or conducting an internal audit of all material.
• Keep all workstations, warehouse and other areas around M.C. Dean in a clean and professional manner.
• Weigh each shipment before it leaves the warehouse and write it on the pull ticket and material. (If a scale is present)
• Assist other departments with whatever is asked.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills.
• Must be a well-organized person to maintain the warehouse and material in a clean and organized manner.
• Communication skills are a must.
• Must be able to work independently as well with others and also multitask.
• High School Diploma/GED and 3+ years of experience

Abilities

• The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to [50 pounds] on a regular basis. Candidates must demonstrate physical strength and stamina to perform various tasks, including but not limited to, loading, and unloading, operating equipment, and assisting in the transportation of various materials. Proper lifting techniques and safety protocols must be followed to ensure personal and team safety.
• Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
• Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
• Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
• Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
• May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
• Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
• Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
• Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
• See details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
• Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

Pay Range

USD $21.00 - USD $21.00 /Hr.
