Job summary

Doherty Staffing Solutions in Spencer, IA is seeking a Forklift Operator for a seasonal/full-time role in a large distribution center. You will operate forklifts, perform inspections, load/unload shipments, and help maintain inventory accuracy.

The position offers 1st shift hours, weekly pay, and benefits options. Prior forklift experience and a valid forklift certification are preferred, with training provided to obtain certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent education/experience.
• At least 1 year of forklift or lift truck operating experience in a warehouse or distribution environment preferred.
• Able to obtain Powered Industrial Forklift certification (training provided).
• SAP scanning experience is a plus.
• Inventory control experience preferred.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screening requirements, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Operate powered industrial forklifts to move, stack, and organize products throughout the warehouse.
• Complete daily forklift inspections and follow all operating procedures and safety guidelines.
• Load and unload trucks, receive shipments, and put away inventory.
• Pick products and transport materials accurately using scanning equipment.
• Assist with inventory control and maintain organized warehouse storage areas.
• Identify and report damaged products, inventory shortages, or discrepancies.
• Replace propane tanks and/or charge forklift batteries as needed.
