Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Kentucky is seeking a Forklift Operator to move stock within our warehouse, loading and unloading shipments and operating stand-up, sit-down, or clamp forklifts and electric pallet jacks.

The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and accurate inventory handling. Prior forklift certification and six months of warehouse experience are preferred, with opportunities for growth and benefits in a large logistics network.

Qualifications

• Forklift operator certificate or satisfactory completion of a forklift-training program within the first 30 days of employment
• High School Diploma or Equivalent, preferred
• Six months warehouse experience, preferred
• Six months forklift operation experience
• Experience with sit-down and stand-up forklifts; WMS experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, move, stock, and stage products and materials using various types of forklifts or other power equipment 80% of specified shift.
• Pull and prepare product for shipment ensuring the exact number and types of product is loaded.
• Keep appropriate records and reports for inventory accuracy.
• Comply with all OSHA and MSDS standards.
• Verify load accuracy; check the load count, stability, and product damage, report variances as necessary.
• Change equipment battery or LP tank and monitor power source as necessary.
• Maintain the facilitys equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
• Assist in physical inventories.
• Complete daily inspection of equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The core responsibilities of this role include monitoring palletizer equipment, keeping product flowing correctly, and ensuring lot codes and storage locations are accurate. Communicating schedule needs, troubleshooting equipment or material issues, and alerting the coordinator when additional space or support is required. Operators maintain a clean, safe work area by clearing crashes, cleaning spills, and completing all housekeeping tasks before the end of the shift. They also perform a proper shift handoff and verify that needed materials like pallets and tier sheets are stocked.

• 2nd $25.25/hr- $28.25/hr
• 3rd $25.25/hr- $28.25./hr

In addition to the general job description below, the ideal candidate may also possess the following skills and/or experience: General Computer Knowledge, Production, Manufacturing, Warehouse, General Labor, Quality Control, Material Handler, Communication, a minimum of 3 months of computer skills are preferred but not required.

First preference will be given to those with sit-down experience. Experience operating other material handling equipment such as Order (Cherry) Picker, Sit-down, Clamp, Electric Pallet Jack is also a plus. A minimum of 6 month’s experience using a commercial WMS (warehouse management system) such as Manhattan/AS400.
