Position Purpose

As a Forklift Operator with a strong emphasis on safety, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a forklift to supply and retrieve pallets or materials from various departments within the plant. Your role involves making decisions to optimize material movement and contribute to the overall efficiency of the plant operations. Additionally, you may be required to perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubricating and replacing liquefied-gas tanks on the forklift.

We are seeking a Forklift Operator to join our Wilmington, MA team. If you have warehouse experience, a strong work ethic and the ability to work through an 8-hour fast-paced shift, this role could be a great fit.

Responsibilities

• Operate the forklift to efficiently move pallets, containers, and materials throughout the plant facility.
• Move levers and press pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus. Position forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets and transport load to designated area.
• Conduct inspection of the forklift prior to operating, promptly reporting issues to maintenance team for resolution.

Loading and Unloading:

• Assist in loading and unloading trucks or containers with pallets or materials using the forklift, ensuring proper placement and securement of items.

Safety and Compliance

• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery.
• Maintain awareness of pedestrian and vehicle traffic in the work area.
• Report any safety hazards or concerns to supervisors immediately.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures relevant to forklift operations.

Physical Requirements

Lift and carry up to 65 lbs

• Push items with a maximum force of 34 lbs./feet.
• Pull items with a maximum force of 34 lbs./feet.

Working Conditions

• Work in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• Requires sitting for long periods at times; exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures; PPE required.
