Job summary

American Plastics in Iowa is seeking a dependable Material Handler to support loading, unloading, and moving parts across our facility. You will operate a forklift safely, assist with packaging, labeling, and maintaining clean, organized work areas.

The role requires stamina for long standing, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 40 lbs solo and 80 lbs with a team. You’ll read work orders, follow instructions, and help meet daily production and delivery schedules.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate a forklift safely and load/unload materials.
• Ability to move freight by hand or with equipment as needed.
• Read work orders or follow oral instructions of work assignments.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Diligence in labeling and identifying containers.
• Ability to work in a team to handle heavier loads.
• Adherence to all safety procedures.

• Move freight, stock, to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, or containers, by hand or using other equipment
• Sort finished goods before loading and unloading
• Attach identifying labels to containers or mark them with identifying information
• Read work orders or follow oral instructions of work assignments
• Assist in maintaining work area (i.e. sweeping, emptying trash, etc.)
• Other duties and special projects as assigned by Management.

Available Shift:

Sunday 7-3 Monday through Thursday 9-5

Expectations:

• Run a safe, clean operation that promotes zero accidents
• Meet production and delivery schedules
• Be at work on time all scheduled days

Requirements

• Standing long periods, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 40 lbs. individually and 80 lbs. with a team lift.
• Maintain product specifications during production and packing according to customer requests.
• Meet daily delivery requirements.
• Monitor and advise if there are not an adequate inventory of materials (finished parts, WIP, and raw materials).
• May participate in housekeeping.
• Adhere to all safety procedures.
