The Forklift Operator reports to the Production Manager and is responsible for performing various tasks including operation, inspection, and maintenance of machinery, daily use of a forklift to move raw materials and finished goods, as well as the construction of crating.
This is an hourly, full-time position based in our Springfield facility.
Operate, maintain and do daily inspection of the forklift
Move materials to and from all work centers and facility racking
Load and unload trucks using a forklift and/or pallet jack
Physical receipt and inspection of incoming materials
Fabricate and assemble crating for shipment
Operate a floor scrubber when required
Maintain a clean and organized work station daily
Assist in other areas as needed
High school diploma and/or equivalent work experience
Ability to complete and pass the forklift certification program
Experience with woodworking equipment such as chop saw, table saw, fastener drivers, staplers etc.
Trustworthy, reliable, punctual, able to work with little supervision
Ability to read blueprints or production schematics a plus
Flexible attitude in order to work in different departments when necessary
Capacity to stand for long periods of time
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
Comfortable wearing of Personal Protective Equipment
