Job description

Amentum is searching for a Forklift Operator with an active Secret Security Clearance.

Moving goods packed on pallets or in crates around the storage facility, according to storage requirements, shelf-life regulations, and staging procedures

Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions

Ensuring loads are properly secured, including performing material handling procedures to correctly stack, palletize, ship, and move material

Stacking and storage of empty pallets, crates, etc.

Performing daily equipment checks, such as recharging the truck’s battery and lubricating equipment

Unloading materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stacking them in assigned places

Disposal of waste materials/recyclables through the use and movement of machine hoppers, roll-offs, and other required equipment

Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment

Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.

Perform a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment’s storage plan

Rearrange and take inventory of stored materials, examine stored materials, and report deterioration and damage. Removes material from storage and prepares it for shipment

This position can alternate between outdoor and indoor environments, potentially exposing employees to environmental hazards

Operate tools and equipment in the performance of duties as approved by management

Conducts assigned portions of inventories. Uses bar code wands, labeling equipment, laser scanning equipment, and/or computer terminals. May require a CAC for system access

Operates a manually controlled gasoline, electric, or liquid propane gas-powered forklift to transport goods and materials of all kinds within a warehouse.

Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment

Performs all housekeeping and maintenance duties as needed to ensure workspace upkeep

Performs all other duties as assigned, requested, or related, unless otherwise excluded by this description or the established collective bargaining agreement

Must have an active secret US government clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to maintain a secret clearance

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Twelve months of job-related experience and/or training

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle

Must be able to speak, read, and understand English

This position requires the candidate to pass a pre-employment physical examination and urinary analysis

Must be available for any shift, must be willing to work weekends and other hours as needed
