Job summary

EGGER North America in Lexington, NC is seeking an experienced forklift operator to join our Materials Management and Logistics team. You will move and stage lumber materials, inspect for damages, and help keep accurate inventory records in a fast-paced facility.

We offer a Monday–Friday 11am–7:30pm shift or a 12-hour rotating swing (2-2-3) schedule with pay of $18/hour (days) or $21/hour (swing). Applicants must have at least 2 years of forklift experience and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience operating an industrial type forklift.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, load capacity limits, stability considerations, and best practices for forklift operation.

Responsibilities

  • Unload and upload large lumber-like material.
  • Identify damages.
  • Report shortages and quality deficiencies.
  • Transport raw materials to production workstations.
  • Inspect machinery and determine the need for repairs.
  • Keep updated records of inventory and produce activity logs.
  • Comply with company policies and guidelines and maintain a safe environment.

Starting Pay: M-F schedule: $18/hour and 12-hour rotating swing shift schedule: $21/hour.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Unload and upload large lumber like material.
  • Identify damages.

SCHEDULE DEMANDS
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday 11am - 7:30pm or 12-hour rotating 7-7 swing shift (2-2-3) 2 weeks days & 2 weeks nights, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours.
  • Occasional bending and lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
  • Ability to enter and exit forklift multiple times per shift as well as climb onto and off the forklift.
QUALIFICATIONS
BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE
  • 2 years of experience operating an industrial type forklift.
  • Ability to operate a forklift in various environments and conditions.
  • Strong attention to safety protocols and operational guidelines.
  • Valid Driver's License.
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, load capacity limits, stability considerations, and best practices for forklift operation in various environments.
  • Basic understanding of forklift mechanics, including routine maintenance, pre- and post-operation inspections, and the ability to identify and report mechanical issues.
  • Familiarity with warehouse procedures, inventory management, and material handling practices to effectively navigate and operate within a warehouse or industrial setting.
  • Understanding of spatial considerations, including the ability to maneuver in confined spaces, stack and unstack materials, and navigate through warehouse layouts.
