Hood Container Corporation is seeking a qualified Forklift Operator to join our Houston facility on the 1st shift. You will move corrugated materials safely, stage production lines, and help maintain accurate inventory.

You must pass internal forklift certification, have 2+ years of experience in a fast-paced warehouse, be comfortable with RF scanners and inventory software, and be willing to work overtime including weekends; competitive pay starts at $22/hour plus shift differentials.

Qualifications

• Must pass internal forklift test and certification.
• Experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environment, preferably corrugated/packaging.
• 2+ years forklift operation with a strong emphasis on safety.
• Experience using an RF Scanner and software for inventory management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work overtime, including weekends.

Join our dynamic team and play a critical role in optimizing our production flow! We are seeking highly motivated and skilled Forklift Operator to work on 1st shift with expertise on a sit-down forklift to work in a fast-paced production environment. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe movement of corrugated paper materials throughout our facility, ensuring seamless production and adherence to stringent quality standards.

Shifts:

• First Shift (6 Am - 2 PM, Monday - Friday)
• Second Shift (2 PM – 10 PM, Monday – Friday), $2/hr Shift Differential
• Third Shift (10 PM – 6 AM, Monday - Friday), $1/hr Shift Differential

Key Responsibilities:

• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and conduct thorough pre-shift forklift inspections, documenting findings and reporting maintenance needs.
• Precision Material Movement: Operate forklifts with a focus on safety and efficiency to transport materials within the production and warehouse areas.
• Production Line Optimization: Proactively manage material flow to production lines, ensuring timely and accurate staging to maintain uninterrupted operations.
• Inventory Management: Accurately scan and transfer finished goods to designated warehouse locations, maintaining precise inventory records.
• Warehouse Organization: Strategically stack and organize materials to maximize warehouse space and prevent damage.
• Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with other material handlers and warehouse personnel to achieve operational objectives.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure the integrity of materials and finished goods during handling and transport.

Qualifications:

• Ability to pass internal forklift test and certification process.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, preferably within the corrugated or packaging industry.
• Two or more years in forklift operation with a strong emphasis on safety.
• Experience using a RF Scanner and software for inventory management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering effective teamwork.
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Availability to work overtime as needed (up to 12 hours and/or weekends)
