Job Summary
Position is responsible for operating the forklift to move product and materials around the facility efficiently while adhering to safety policies and procedures.
Essential Functions
- Comply with Westlake safety policies and procedures.
- Load trucks with the correct tile color and profile in a timely manner.
- Unload inner‑company transfer trucks and assist with unloading other shipment materials promptly.
- Accurately complete all shipping and receiving documents, record pick sheets/slip changes.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels, documenting all scrap material.
- Participate in yearly/monthly inventory counting and reconciliation.
- Ensure product loads meet Boral specification (Zero Breakage) before shipping.
- Follow all safety and environmental protection rules and procedures.
- Present professionally to internal/external customers at all times.
- Adhere to housekeeping rules and procedures for yard and forklift.
- Complete due forklift check sheet daily.
- Work in non‑controlled weather environments (outside, heat, cold).
- Perform other duties as directed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Good communication skills.
- Team player, reliable, high work ethic.
Education & Experience
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow simple instructions.
- High school diploma preferred.
- At least 1 year of related experience.
Equipment and Special Materials
- Forklift, mixers, air‑driven pumps, moisture balance and dust collector system.
Essential Physical Requirements / Work Environment
- Exposure to sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable.
- Withstand exposure to temperature extremes inside or out.
- Prolonged standing or stationary position.
- Repetitive movements.
- Bending and/or twisting.
- Lifting/moving/transporting items up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to move or traverse throughout the facility.
- Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances in various environmental conditions.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and hard hat protection).
