Helena Industries, HI unit, part of Helena Agri-Enterprises, LLC, seeks a Forklift Operator to move product and materials in a safety-focused plant environment. You will load/unload trucks, operate a forklift, and record transactions in the OPM system while keeping aisles and work areas clean and orderly.

The role requires strong safety awareness, forklift certification, and rotating shifts. A high school diploma or equivalent and a valid U.S.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to pass forklift operator certification is required.
• One year of forklift experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads trucks at the dock and completes related reports.
• Operates a forklift to move products and materials.
• Delivers products to the appropriate departments.
• Enter receipts, shipping or inventory movements into the OPM system as needed.
• Complete forklift inspection reports daily and maintain forklifts in good condition.
• Maintain a clean, organized warehouse with clear aisles and exits.
• Contribute to problem solving using continuous improvement methods.
• Drive a company vehicle as required.
• Provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
• Attend to other duties as assigned by leadership.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.

This position is with Helena Industries (HI). HI is a wholly owned subsidiary of Helena Agri-Enterprises, LLC and provides production and distribution solutions to customers across a wide variety of industries. HI is one of the largest chemical toll manufacturers in the U.S. and our clients include many household name brands and large retailers.

ABOUT THE JOB

The Forklift Operator will perform various tasks associated with the movement of product, raw materials and other commodities in the plant in a safe, responsible manner following all safety rules and procedures. This position requires a high level of safety awareness while moving throughout the plant especially while operating mobile equipment.

WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE

• Loads and unloads trucks received at the dock and completes related reports.


• Retrieves packaged deliveries, in-process products and finished materials from the warehouse by operating a forklift.


• Delivers products and materials to the appropriate departments.


• May be required to enter related transactions for receipts, shipping or inventory movements into OPM system.


• Completes forklift inspection reports daily and maintains forklifts in good operating condition.


• Completes housekeeping tasks in the warehouse including maintaining work areas in an orderly fashion and keeping isles and exits open at all times.


• Maintains a clean work environment both inside and outside the facility by using good housekeeping habits.


• Routinely participates in problem solving activities utilizing scientific thinking and other continuous improvement techniques


• Required to drive a company vehicle.


• Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.


• Other work-related duties as assigned by leader.


• Regular and reliable attendance is required.


• Follows all company policies and procedures.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.


• Ability to pass forklift operator certification is required.


• One year of forklift experience is preferred.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Reading, writing and math skills.


• Mechanical aptitude.


• Organizational skills.


• Ability to work rotating shifts.


• May be required to pass OSHA respirator physical.


• Ability to read, write and speak in English is required.


• Communicating in Spanish is a valuable skill at Helena.


• Valid U.S. driver's license is required and must meet all company requirements to drive a Helena vehicle.


• Applicants for positions requiring operation of a moving vehicle or interaction with heavy equipment must meet the legal age requirement.

Successful completion of a drug test and background check is required for all positions at Helena.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF THE JOB

The work environment for this position is in a typical plant/warehouse environment where the noise level is usually moderate to loud. In this position, you will regularly work near moving equipment/mechanical parts and could be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, chemical and biological hazards, vibrations and a risk of electrical shock.

This position requires you to use your hands for many different tasks and to talk, hear, walk, sit, stand, (8 hours a day or more), lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling (up to and including 50lbs or more), reaching overhead (up to and including 25lbs), climbing, gripping, grasping and twisting using hands and wrists, bending and stooping for long periods of time, working below knee levels for short periods of time and working above shoulder level for short periods.
