Job summary

Maersk Warehousing and Distribution USA LLC in Savannah, GA is hiring a Forklift Operator for 1st shift. You will load/unload materials, operate forklifts and pallet jacks, and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Essential duties include pulling freight from manifests, assisting drivers, and ensuring accurate handling and staging. Overtime and weekend shifts may be required; good English skills and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be able to use forklifts, pallet jacks, and banding/shrink-wrap material.
• Experience using an RF scan gun is required.
• Previous forklift certifications preferred.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed, occasional weekends.
• Must be able to read and comprehend work instructions well.
• Must have the ability to work well with others.
• High attention to detail required.
• Must have the ability to lift 50+ lbs unassisted.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.

Responsibilities

• Utilize manifest to pull routes, stage freight, and assist drivers in loading/unloading.
• Operate forklifts safely and maintain equipment.
• Perform material handling such as picking, packing, scanning, and counting.
• Identify and annotate OS&D (overages, shortages, damages).
• Read and follow instructions in a fast-paced environment.
• Ensure safety and compliance with TSA/OSHA guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

We are hiring a Forklift Operator-1st shift

The Forklift Operator is in charge of loading & unloading materials utilizing a hand truck, reach truck,or forklift. They are to maintain a clean and safe work environment and identify any discrepancies in receiving loads against manifest.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Utilizing manifest to pull route, stage freight, and assist Drivers in loading and unloading trucks
• Forklift experience
• Material handling may include one or more of the following: picking, packing, scanning, kitting (asapplicable), counting products, and other like dutiesmust ensure timeliness, packaging, and systems work is completed accurately.
• Identifying and annotating overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D)
• Safely operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
• Read and follow detailed and defined instructions in a fast-paced environment.
• Ensure a safe and secure work environment, including all TSA and OSHA guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

• Must be able to use forklifts, pallet jacks, and banding/shrink-wrap material

EXPERIENCE:

• Previous warehouse experience preferred - 1 years experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• This position requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Position requires employees to frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, use hands, reach, bend and lift objects above their head. Employees must be able to regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds unassisted and use pallet jacks and forklifts.

Pay Salary:

• The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
