FedEx Supply Chain in Edwardsville, IL is seeking a Forklift Operator I to safely operate Sit-Down/Stand-Up forklifts and electric pallet jacks for receiving, storage, and order fulfillment. This role emphasizes product safety, quality, and adherence to OSHA standards.

Key duties include loading/unloading, stacking, pallet building, daily equipment checks, and cycle counting to maintain inventory accuracy. The position requires physical capability and strong teamwork in a fast-paced distribution

Qualifications

• Operate powered basic material handling equipment safely (electric pallet jack, sit-down/stand-up forklifts).
• Maintain PPE requirements and safety practices at all times.
• Demonstrate urgency, attention to detail, and coordination in daily tasks.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with teammates and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload pallets and cases from trucks or conveyors, using equipment or manual handling.
• Safely transport and stack materials with forklifts.
• Sort and build pallets to meet customer requirements and improve accuracy.
• Apply shrink wrap to pallets and perform daily equipment inspections.
• Maintain location accuracy through cycle counts and inventory upkeep.
• Adhere to OSHA safety rules and participate in general distribution tasks as needed.

Forklift Operator 1

Position Summary

The Forklift Operator I is primarily responsible for safely operating basic powered material handling equipment including Sit-Down/Stand Up Forklift and Electric Pallet Jack for the purpose of product receipt, storage and order fulfillment. This position is responsible for product safety, quality, legality and integrity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading of pallets and cases from trucks and conveyor lines, by hand or equipment
• Safely loading/unloading, transporting, and stacking materials using forklifts
• Sorting and building products to pallets to ensure compliance with customer expectations
• Use machinery to apply shrink wrap to pallet
• Quality control to ensure accuracy of all transactions
• Performing daily equipment inspections for maintenanceMaintain accuracy of storage locations by performing daily cycle counts and routine inventory maintenance tasks
• Perform other distribution work functions as needed due to business volume and need
• Adhering to strict OSHA safety rules
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to operate powered basic material handling equipment, i.e. electric pallet jack and Stand-up/Sit down forklift
• Must meet all PPE requirements
• Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail and coordination
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
