Job summary

CRH's Oldcastle Infrastructure unit is hiring a Forklift Operator to move materials around a rugged outdoor manufacturing site, adhering to safety policies and procedures. The role requires at least 2 years of forklift experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain, including lifting up to 65 pounds as needed.

You will read specifications, observe equipment, perform routine maintenance, and complete daily reports to keep operations

Job Summary

The Forklift Operator will operate a forklift in a rugged outdoor, unpaved environment to move material throughout a manufacturing facility while adhering to safety policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine operator adjustments and material requirements
• Observe equipment operation to detect machine malfunction
• Perform routine maintenance to include lubricating, fueling and cleaning
• Inspect and complete equipment report dailyAbility to move levers, shift gears, depress pedals and maneuver steering wheel to operator equipment

Job Requirements

• At least 2 years’ experience using a forklift
• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Able to sit for extended periods in operation of equipment on varying surfaces (paved, dirt, multilevel)
• Able to climb up & down from cab heights with ease multiple times per hour
• Must be able to work safely in a busy mulch yard, judging distances and operating equipment with precision.
• Must be able to work effectively in extreme outdoor climate(s) - cold, heat, rain, fog
• The employee is regularly required to lift and move up to 40lbs. Occasionally the employee may need to lift up to 65lbs, – should this be the case, employees should engage in team lifting and/or use the provided equipment to safely lift
