Job summary

York Building Products is seeking a Forklift Operator/Laborer to help keep materials moving and customer orders rolling out the door. You’ll operate forklifts and other equipment, load trucks, pick and palletize materials, and ensure accuracy and safety on every load, working closely with Supervisors, Customer Service, and Sales to deliver on time.

This role is not a desk job; you’ll be outdoors and indoors, moving materials in sunshine, rain, wind, heat, or cold.

Qualifications

• Forklift experience required.
• Able to read and follow loading/picking instructions.
• Safety-minded approach to yard operations.
• Dependable team player willing to work extended hours when needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts and other equipment to keep materials moving.
• Load and unload materials from trucks.
• Pick, move, and re-palletize materials to prepare orders.
• Read loading and picking tickets and ensure loads are accurate and secure.
• Collaborate with Supervisors, Customer Service, and Sales to fulfill orders on time.
• Operate heavy equipment as needed.
• Complete daily equipment inspections and report issues.
• Keep the work area clean, organized and safe.
• Follow safety rules for every load and shift.
• Assist where needed to support yard operations.

York Building Products is looking for a Forklift Operator/Laborer to help keep materials moving and customer orders rolling out the door. You’ll spend your day operating equipment, loading trucks, moving materials, building orders, and working alongside a team that gets the job done.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Drive it. Move it. Load it. Safely operate forklifts and other equipment to keep materials moving.
• Load and unload materials from all kinds of trucks.
• Pick, organize, move, and re-palletize materials so orders are ready to roll.
• Read loading and picking tickets and make sure every load is accurate and secure.
• Work with Supervisors, Customer Service, and Sales to make sure customers get what they ordered, when they ordered it.
• Operate various types of heavy equipment and machinery when needed.
• Complete daily equipment inspections and speak up when something isn’t right.
• Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow YBP safety rules and regulations — every load, every shift, every time.
• Pitch in wherever needed. Teamwork makes the yard work!

You’ll work both indoors and outdoors, moving materials and loading trucks in sunshine, rain, wind, heat, cold, and everything in between.

You’ll climb in and out of equipment, stay active, lift, bend, stoop, and keep things moving throughout the day.

THE PHYSICAL STUFF

• Climb in and out of equipment repeatedly.
• Walk, sit, bend, stoop, and move around equipment and materials.
• Lift and move materials weighing up to 90 pounds.
• Work safely around forklifts, trucks, heavy equipment, and moving materials.
• Be ready for a physical, hands-on workday.
