Job summary

Tranco Logistics in Chattanooga seeks an Onsite Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Operator to sort, route, and load cargo to and from trucks and chutes. You will operate forklifts or Tugger equipment safely and support general warehouse tasks.

You will collaborate with fellow operators to meet quality and operational goals, maintain clean work areas, and adhere to OSHA, SDS, and 5S standards. Candidates must be fluent in English, have a high school diploma, and be at least 18 years old.

Qualifications

• Warehouse and transportation experience.
• MHE operations.

Responsibilities

• Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
• Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers.
• Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product using a forklift or Tugger; inspect equipment daily.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area; follow OSHA and SDS standards and 5S principles.

Description

An Onsite Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Operator sorts, routes and loads cargo to and from truck and chutes. The individual is responsible for operating material handling equipment safely and may also support general warehouse operations.

A MHE Operator must work with other Operators to effectively meet or exceed expectations for quality and operations.

Responsibilities:

Receiving/Put-Away:

• Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations. Efficiently stack and store the material in the appropriate areas.

Quality:

• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.

Loading:

• Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers.

Equipment:

• Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift or a Tugger. Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. On a daily basis, inspect the forklift or otherequipment. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.

Safety, Sanitation, Security:

• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Comply with OSHA and SDS Standards as well as 5S principals.

Requirements:

Educational:

• Be able to read, write and speak fluent English
• High school diploma
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Technical:

• Warehouse and transportation experience.
• MHE operations
• Goodverbal and oral communication.

Physical:

• Occasionally move push/pull and/or lift up to 50 pounds.
• Standing up to 10 hours at a time.
• Extensive periods of walking

Environment:

• Workis performed in a low noise, well maintained environment.

Training:

• In-house, on the job training at initial hiring to insure all related job requirements will be met. Also, refresher training required at least every three years per OSHA standard. Additionally, refresher training required after any accident / incident involving material handling equipment.

• Interaction: Able to communicate well verbally and in writing with employees and management as needed.
