Job summary

Associated is hiring a Forklift Field Service Technician in Plainfield, IN for full-time work. You will troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical forklift systems, install equipment, and service customers at their sites with a focus on safety and quality.

We offer a choice of 4-day/10-hour or 5-day/8-hour weeks, paid travel time after the initial 30 minutes per day, and a comprehensive benefits package. Tools are provided, and a company van with a gas card is included for job sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1–3 years mechanical/electrical/hydraulic experience.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• Proficiency reading schematics, maps, blueprints, and manuals.

Responsibilities:

As a Forklift Field Service Technician, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional service to our customers by:

• Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnosing electro-mechanical issues, completing installations, and performing both unscheduled repairs and scheduled maintenance based on customer requirements.
• Problem Analysis and Resolutions: Analyzing breakdown situations, recommending corrective actions to customers, and executing repairs efficiently and professionally.
• Customer Service Excellence: Demonstrating professionalism and fostering positive relationships with customers while delivering superior customer service.

Qualifications:

• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in reading schematics, maps, blueprints, and manuals, coupled with knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and material handling equipment.
• Customer-Centric Approach: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to exchange information courteously, and a commitment to exceptional customer relations.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the following physical activities on a regular basis:

Must be able to operate a forklift, you must safely fit inside a tight operator compartment measuring 16 to 20 inches wide and perform mechanical repairs in restricted, confined spaces.

Strength & Lifting

Light Work– Regularly lift and move up to20 lbs.

Medium Work– Frequently lift and move up to50 lbs.

Heavy Work– Occasionally lift and move up to100 lbs.

Very Heavy Work– Rarely required to lift over110 lbs..
