Job summary

Sysco is seeking a Forklift Inbound associate in Los Angeles to efficiently receive and store inbound produce. You will rotate stock using FIFO, operate a stand-up forklift and pallet jack, and maintain a clean, safe work area. You will also account for received product and support returns tasks as needed.

The role requires basic English literacy, the ability to lift up to 75 lbs, and the capability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment with adherence to safety rules.

Qualifications

• High School or GED preferred.
• Six months warehouse experience required or preferred.
• Experience operating a stand-up forklift and riding pallet jack is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Receive and put away inbound produce.
• Ensure FIFO rotation and proper stocking of selection slots.
• Operate powered industrial equipment safely.
• Keep pallets free of tape, wrap, or wires and remove empty pallets.
• Clean and sanitize the work area and account for received product.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Factors that may be used to determine your actual rate of pay include your specific skills, years of experience and other factors.You may be eligible to participate in the Company's Incentive Plan.**BENEFITS INFORMATION:**For information on Sysco’s Benefits, please visit https://SyscoBenefits.com**JOB SUMMARY**Responsible for putting away inbound produce.**RESPONSIBILITIES*** Receives and puts away all inbound produce.* Ensures product is put away in proper rotation (FIFO).* Safe operation of powered industrial equipment.* Ensures selection slots are properly stocked with the product always keeps pallets free from tape, wrap or wires and remove empty pallets as needed.* Responsible for the cleaning and sanitation of the work area.* Accounting for the received product.* Other duties as assigned by supervisor.**QUALIFICATIONS** **Education*** Prefer High School or GED**Experience** Six (6) months experience in a warehouse.* Six (6) months experience of proficiently utilizing a stand-up forklift and riding pallet jack preferred.* Basic knowledge of fresh produce preferred.* Experience in replenishment, cycling of product, RF (radio frequency) scanners and other returns related functions preferred.**Skills*** Must have strong reading, writing, and be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.* Ability to perform work assignments at an acceptable productivity level.* Able to effectively communicate and interact with others in a professional manner.**Physical Demand*** Stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, squat, turn the body, and walk.* Lift and move cases (selecting a product and placing on a pallet) ranging in weight up to 75 lbs continuously to and from heights ranging from floor to knee, waist, shoulder, and overhead.* Use hands and fingers to peel and stick labels on cases.* Handle and feel objects and/or equipment controls; reach with hands and arms.* Must have the ability to talk and hear; must be able to hear warning horns on moving machinery and equipment.* Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include close and distance vision, depth perception, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.* Must exhibit a high level of endurance, energy, and strength to successfully perform the position.**Work Environment*** Must be able to work in confined spaces**OVERVIEW:**Sysco is the global leader in foodservice distribution.
