BRT Extrusions Inc in Niles, OH is seeking a qualified Forklift Operator to support our growing manufacturing team. You will operate a forklift, move bundles, and assist loading drivers while maintaining safety and productivity.

Qualifications

• Perform the Forklift Inspection before driving for the shift.
• Log into Forklift Monitor and perform all safety checks as required.
• Operate Forklift safely and follow all safety precautions and procedures.
• Able to read and understand shipping labels/customer information.
• Must maintain good attendance and follow company trainings.

Responsibilities

• Discuss production goals with Supervisor/Manager for the shift.
• Locate bundles and mark with designated color using material picklists.
• Pull bundles from bays and place in warehouse for loading drivers.
• Assist loading drivers with closing truck trailers after load.
• Keep extrusions organized in staging areas by order/die/customer.
• Transport UPS/FedEx packages to Storeroom.
• Load customer pickups at Dock 3 as required.
• Fix damaged bundles or broken straps before loading onto trucks.
• Communicate with team by radio.
• Move products manually as required.
• May assist other departments with driving needs during shift.

Come, Learn, Grow!Essential duties of the Utility Forklift Operator:Discuss with Supervisor and or Manager of production goals and duties for the shift.Locate bundles and mark them with their designated color for each load using the materialpicklists.Pull bundles from their designated bays and place them in the warehouse for the loading drivers.Assist the loading drivers with closing truck trailers once load is complete.Keep bundles of extrusions organized in staging areas by order/die/customer.Transport any UPS or FedEx packages that are due to ship to the Storeroom.Will be asked to load any customer pickups at Dock 3.Fix any damaged bundles or broken straps on bundles before loading onto trucks.Communicate with team by radio.Move product/materials manually as required.May help other departments with driving needs throughout shift if asked.Requirements of the Utility Forklift Operator:Perform the Forklift Inspection before driving for the shift.Log into Forklift Monitor and perform all safety checks as required.Operate Forklift safely and follow all safety precautions and procedures.Blow out radiator with air gun for preventive maintenance on Forklift.Must obtain Power Industrial Truck training/certification through BRT.Must be recertified in the driving certification every 3 years through BRT.Able to read and understand shipping labels/customer information.Must have strong communication skills and listen to instructions throughout shift.Have knowledge of locations in the building and staging areas.Report any unsafe issues or accidents on Forklift that need addressed to the Supervisor,Manager or Forklift Maintenance and follow all Company incident/accident reportingprocedures.Must maintain good attendanceMust be willing to participate in all required job and or employment related trainings. Thisincludes but is not limited to all safety and technical or role or tool specific trainings.Physical requirements:This position requires the individual to work in a factory/manufacturing environment. The temperaturescan fluctuate from hot to cold and noise level is high. An individual in this role will be able to walk, bend,stoop, twist, turn and climb and push frequently. With proper safety equipment, an individual in this rolemay work above ground level (off the ground) for long periods of time. An individual in this role willneed to be always aware of movement and/or noises around them. An individual in this role must move25lbs frequently and up to 50lbs occasionally. And individual in this role will remain stationary for asmuch as approximately 75% of the time.
