Job summary

Finlays Solutions is seeking a Forklift Driver to support the CPS Warehouse and Production Teams. The role requires safe operation of a counterbalance stand-up forklift, in trailers and narrow aisles, with teamwork and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities include safety checks, pallet labeling, pallet-jack movement, and document management. The position may require overtime and weekend work as dictated by Warehouse supervision.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 2+ years of standup forklift operating experience.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have great attention to detail.
  • Ability to take feedback constructively and function in a team-oriented work environment.
  • Fluent in English; able to read SOPs and operating manuals.
  • Basic math skills and comfort with calculators.
  • Familiarity with basic computer systems and control interfaces.
  • Knowledge of food production or safety is a plus.
  • Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a forklift safely and efficiently and perform vehicle safety checks.
  • Maintain pallet labels for production tracking.
  • Use pallet jacks to move packaging and finished goods in the warehouse.
  • Keep a clean and safe work environment and communicate with departments.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining the warehouse area.
  • Re-palletize finished goods when needed and transfer pallets to storage.
  • Create and maintain written documentation for processes.
  • Follow plant policies, GMPs, SOPs, SSOPs, SQF, HACCP, and safety procedures.
  • Work overtime/weekends as required by the supervisor.

Job Summary

The Forklift driver is an important position in the success of the CPS Warehouse and Production Teams. The ability to drive a counterbalance forklift (stand up) safely, in and out of trailers and down narrow aisles are important pre‑requisites for this position. The ability to work with others and organizational skills are key attributes needed to be successful in this role.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Operate a forklift safely and efficiently, perform vehicle safety checks of the lifts and report discrepancies to supervisor
  • Always utilize proper radio etiquette consistent with CPS Values.
  • Create pallet labels in inventory for production tracking
  • Ability to use pallet jack to move packaging and finished goods around the Warehouse
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Maintain strong communication with all Departments
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining Warehouse area
  • Re‑palletizing finished goods when needed
  • Transferring pallets from Production to Warehouse for storage
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining proper written documentation
  • Must be willing to work occasional overtime and weekends as determined by Warehouse Supervisor
  • Follow and comply with all applicable plant policies, GMP’s, SOP’s, SSOP’s, SQF, safety procedures and HACCP programs
  • Conduct all work in a safe and productive manner. Maintain a friendly and team‑oriented attitude under normal and stressful circumstances
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
Education and Skills
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 2+ years of standup forklift operating experience
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

  • Must have great attention to detail

  • Concise communication with co‑workers and management to promote teamwork atmosphere
  • Must be fluent in English, as well as be able to read documents in English such as SOP’s and operating manuals
  • Conceptual skills and problem‑solving abilities

  • Must have general knowledge of computers
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to ensure understanding of written procedures, safety instructions, technical documentation, and verbal communications.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and use of weights and measures. Must be comfortable using a calculator
  • Familiarity with basic computer systems and control interfaces
  • Basic understanding of food production and food safety principles is a plus
  • Team‑oriented attitude; respectful, approachable, honest, dependable, and adaptable to change. Capable of resolving conflicts professionally
  • Able to prioritize tasks and remain productive under shifting demands
  • Follows both written and verbal instructions accurately
  • Highly motivated, reliable, and hands‑on with a strong problem‑solving mindset
  • Able to identify and address inconsistencies or quality issues with accuracy and precision
Physical Demands
  • Ability to work beyond regularly scheduled hours during peak periods or critical operations
  • Must possess adequate vision, hearing, and verbal communication skills to meet essential job performance and safety standards.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, lifting, climbing, bending, stooping, squatting, and using hands for detailed tasks
  • Physically capable of performing tasks such as lifting, climbing, and using hand and power tools, including pallet jacks, scales, ladders, and standard material handling and cleaning equipment
  • Capable of safely lifting up to 55 pounds frequently throughout the day; ability to handle heavier items with proper lifting equipment or team‑assisted techniques to ensure safety
Work Environment

Employees must be able to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment that may include exposure to odors, dust, moderate noise levels, and fluctuations in temperature and ventilation. Work environment may involve exposure to inclement weather. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times, which may include but is not limited to: safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, gloves, hairnets, uniforms, and face shields, as required by specific job duties and safety protocols.

  • Handle customer complaints in a timely and professional manner so that the customer is put first, always.
