Job summary

RR Donnelley is hiring for a 1st shift forklift position in Wisconsin. Responsibilities include operating equipment to move finished product, supplying materials, staging shipments, and maintaining inventory across the warehouse. Pay ranges from $16.50 to $18.00 per hour with potential overtime. Shift is 6:30 AM–2:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with overtime as needed. Benefits and additional duties may apply.

Qualifications

• Must know how high, wide, and long the forklift truck and its load are, and how much the forklift truck can lift
• Ability to identify doorway/aisle clearance for forklift operation and to gauge shelf/bin clearance
• Knowledge of storage area layout to locate items without detailed instructions
• Skilled in moving forklifts in tight spaces and narrow aisles
• Greater knowledge and skill than Hoist Operator 1 in handling controls for driving forklifts
• Must be able to start/stop, back, and drive forklifts through narrow aisles, ramps, and transport between locations
• Must recognize whether the forklift can lift the load and if the load is balanced

Responsibilities

• Operates equipment to move finished product for shipping or storage
• Supplies Manufacturing Department with materials as needed
• Stages product to be moved or shipped
• Racks unused supplies and maintains an inventory of item type, amount, and location
• Transports and processes manufacturing paper by-products
• Empties trash hoppers and performs other housekeeping duties as needed
• Performs routine daily inspections on hoist and reports maintenance needs
• May include battery service duties such as inspecting, recharging and replacing batteries of electrical leads and battery poles and lubricating moving parts
• May include changing LP/Propane
• Adheres to all safety policies and procedures including hazardous waste handling, lock out-tag out rules, and hearing/eye protection
• Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned

Available Shift:

1st Shift: 6:30 Am to 2:30 PM (Monday - Friday, overtime as needed)

Pay:

$16.50/hr to $18.00/hr

• Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out-tag out rules and hearing and eye protection policies

Qualifications

• Must know how high, wide, and long the fork lift truck and its load are, and how much the fork lift truck can lift
• Ability to identify how high and wide a doorway and an aisle must be to drive the fork lift truck and its load; how high and wide the shelf, bin, etc., must be to place the load; and how high the load must be lifted to reach the shelf or bin
• Knowledge of the layout of the storage area to be able to find and place items without need for detailed instructions
• Skilled in moving fork lift trucks about in places where there is very little room to stack or remove loads
• Greater knowledge and skill than Hoist Operator 1 in the handling of controls for driving fork lift and/or clamp trucks
• Must be skilled in handling controls for starting, stopping, backings, and driving fork lift trucks through narrow aisles in building, up and down ramps, and in and out of railroad cars, trucks, etc.; and, for lifting, lowering, and tilting forks by moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate controls
• Must be able to recognize whether the fork lift truck is able to lift the load and whether the load is properly balanced
