Job summary

Sunrider Manufacturing in Midlothian, TX is seeking a Material Handler 1 - Forklift Operator to load, unload, and move materials within the plant and yard using pallet jacks or forklifts. You will assist with inventory and ensure safe handling of materials.

The role requires basic education and 1–2 years of related experience, with ability to read simple instructions and follow procedures. Forklift licensing or training is preferred.

SUMMARY:

The Material Handler 1- Forklift Operatoris responsible forloading, unloading, and moving material within or near the manufacturing plant, yard, or work site by hand (general labor/manual pallet jack) or with the use of industrial vehicles such as sit-down forklift, stand-up forklift, or electric pallet jack.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Reads work orders or follows oral instructions to determine materials or containers to be moved.
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand, pallet jack, or forklift.
• Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
• Conveys materials from storage or work sites todesignated area .
• Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination.
• Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.
• Attachesidentifyingtags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
• Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together.
• Removes samples of materials, labels with identifying information, and takes samples to laboratory for analysis.
• Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, andmaintainsa clean work area including machines, and equipment toassistmachine operators.
• Make simple adjustments or repairs such as realigning belts or replacing rollers.
• Assemble crates tocontainproducts such as machines or vehicles.
• Operates industrial vehicles or electric pallet jack to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
• Assistswith yearly inventory.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read andcomprehendsimple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
