Job summary

AKG North America in Mitchell, SD is seeking a Material Handler for 1st shift (6AM–2PM, Mon–Fri). You will support the flow of materials across the plant by unloading shipments, sorting incoming parts, and preparing weekly outbound shipments for Midwest distribution.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years in a manufacturing environment, a valid driver’s license, forklift certification, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • Has 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment; receiving experience is a plus.
  • Must have a Valid Driver's License.
  • Forklift certification and capable operating material-handling equipment.
  • Ability to communicate in English is required; speak, read, and understand English to follow work orders and communicate with team.
  • Able to use SAP to locate and track parts.

Responsibilities

  • Receive materials, review packing slips, and maintain accurate records.
  • Unload incoming trucks, sort parts, and place materials on the welding line.
  • Prepare and load weekly Midwest shipments; confirm customer shipping and delivery reports.
  • Use SAP to locate, retrieve, and track inventory.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and notify Purchasing when materials need replenishment.
  • Assist other Material Handlers as needed.
  • Report issues to the Supervisor immediately.
  • Follow all environmental, safety, and company policies.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
