Job summary

Green Bay Packaging in Maryland is seeking a certified forklift operator to join our warehouse and production support team. You will safely operate forklifts, move and count inventory, unload shipments and prepare product for shipment to meet customer expectations.

You will inspect equipment, maintain a clean and orderly work area, report quality issues, and comply with OSHA, MOSH and SDS standards to ensure a safe workplace.

Qualifications

• Certified forklift operator required.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift throughout production and warehouse.
• Experience with inventory control and shipping procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift safely to move and stack production material and finished goods.
• Unload shipments and relocate merchandise to storage locations.
• Ensure inbound/outbound shipments are accurate and damage-free.
• Prepare product for shipment with exact quantities.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and assist in physical counts.
• Keep work areas clean and report safety or quality concerns.
• Perform production or maintenance tasks as needed.

Job description

Description: Responsible for all activities associated with operating a PIT, clean up and recommending improvements to operations. All employees will be committed to Occupational Safety and Health and Environment. Forklift operators will be responsible for providing a safe and healthful working environment in your areas of responsibility and job description.

• Certified forklift operator
• Able to safely and efficiently operate and maneuver a forklift throughout the production area as well as the plant warehouse.
• Expected to move locate, relocate, stack and count production material and finished goods merchandise.
• Unload shipments and move product to storage locations. Efficiently stack and store merchandise in the appropriate areas.
• Ensure that all inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report any quality deficiencies.
• Select and prepare product for shipment, ensuring the exact number of described product is loaded and shipped. These selection duties must be completed in an efficient manner that meets the customer service standards.
• Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas onto trailers.
• All facility equipment and material must be maintained in a neat, clean and orderly fashion. Ona daily basis, use the PIT inspection report form to inspect the forklift and submit this report to your supervisor.
• Keep appropriate records and report to guarantee accurate inventory control. Assist in physical inventories. Ensure proper product rotation.
• Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse. Conduct operations in manner that promotes safety. Comply with all OSHA, MOSH and SDS Standards.
• Perform or assist in production as well as any building, ground and maintenance as required.
