Job summary

Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA in Lebanon, MO seeks a Forklift Operator to move materials safely and efficiently in a manufacturing warehouse. This hourly role reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and requires adherence to safety, quality, and warehouse procedures while handling loading, unloading, and tracking materials.

You will operate forklifts, pick and stage orders, assist with inventory, complete shipping paperwork, and help other departments as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Forklift experience and safety training preferred.
• Ability to read shipping documents and labels.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, ship, and receive warehouse materials and products.
• Transport materials to designated locations within the facility using a forklift.
• Pick, wrap, stage, and prepare orders for shipment based on pick tickets and production needs.
• Build pallets and complete pallet picks to support shipping and internal material movement.
• Perform weekly cycle counts and assist with inventory accuracy activities.
• Inspect materials and products for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report issues promptly.
• Complete required shipping, inventory, and material-handling documentation accurately.
• Check forklift condition and report maintenance or repair needs as needed.
• Follow warehouse safety requirements, quality expectations, and production schedules.
• Maintain a clean work area and identify workplace safety hazards.
• Support other departments with forklift-related material movement as needed.

Job description

We are seeking a Forklift Operator to support the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of materials throughout the facility. Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, this hourly role is responsible for loading, unloading, transporting, and tracking materials while following established safety, quality, and warehouse procedures. This position is well suited for someone who works carefully, follows defined processes, and takes ownership of accurate material handling.
Essential Job Functions: (responsibilities, duties and standards of the position, including supervisory level and reporting relationship)

Qualifications and Skills: (in terms of experience, education & training)

• Ability to read and understand packaging labels, shipping documents, pick tickets, and safety guidelines
• Ability to work independently while staying aligned with team processes and operational priorities
• Strong attention to detail in material handling, inspection, and inventory-related tasks
• Ability to follow structured procedures and safety standards consistently
• Basic math skills for counting, tracking, and verifying materials
• Ability to operate technical warehouse equipment safely and effectively
• Clear communication regarding product damage, shortages, equipment issues, and process exceptions
• Prior forklift heavy load operating experience required
• Previous warehouse experience preferred
• Valid driver's license & Class E required
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to work overtime as needed
  

Occasional Duties

• Helping other departments that need a forklift driver
• Able to work overtime as needed.
  

Safety/Environmental/Physical Demands

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to sit for extended periods and work in outdoor conditions, including extreme heat, winter weather, rough terrain, and muddy or icy surfaces
