Forging Press Operator

Location: Santa Fe Springs, CA

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour (1st Shift + 2nd Shift)

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience
• Ability to read blueprints and follow technical specifications
• Basic shop math and measurement skills using calipers and scales
• Experience safely handling large metal parts and operating industrial equipment
• Forklift certification preferred
• Forging or thermal processing experience a plus
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety awareness

Preferred Certifications

• Forklift Certification
• ANSI Y14.5 knowledge
• Thermal Processing Certification

Key Responsibilities

• Review blueprints, work orders, and production schedules to determine heat treat requirements and processing sequences
• Load and unload parts into furnaces using cranes, carts, and forklifts
• Set furnace temperatures and monitor heat treat cycles including quenching, tempering, and normalizing processes
• Move parts through production stages safely and efficiently
• Operate presses, cranes, furnaces, and other production machinery
• Perform hardness testing, inspections, and quality checks on finished parts
• Maintain accurate production records, traveler packages, and traceable documentation
• Follow department safety procedures and continuous improvement practices
• Keep work areas clean and organized
