Job summary

Wieland North America, Inc is hiring a Machine Operator 1 for the Montpelier, OH site, operating in forging and machining areas with safety and quality at the core.

Starting pay is $24.51 per hour plus a $0.30 shift differential, with weekly pay. The role supports meeting production schedules and following safety, operating, and quality guidelines.

Shifts run 6pm–6am, Monday through Wednesday or Monday through Thursday, with growth opportunities within Wieland.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and minimum 2 years' experience operating machinery.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to operate a forklift - training provided.
• Able to lift 30 pounds.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
• Ability to read drawings.
• Problem solving skills / critical thinker.
• Desire to learn and develop technical skills to keep current with changing manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and promote the safety of those working around you; help build a proactive safety culture.
• Operate forging, cleaning, and machining equipment including job setup and installation.
• Run the job following JSWPs and quality processes.
• Clean up and preparation for the next job.
• Meet or exceed quality expectations as defined by Engineering and Quality.
• Periodic part inspection.
• Participate in root cause analysis.
• Meet or exceed financial targets by achieving operating performance targets.
• Read and interpret dimensional layouts when needed.
• Adhere to ISO 9001 and NSF standards.
• Perform operator based preventative maintenance.
• Shipping, receiving and utility work
• Process audits
• Sort product needed for shipment.
