Job summary

Natural Resources Wales is seeking a Senior Forestry Programme Engineer to lead a rolling five-year civil engineering programme for the Welsh Government Woodland Estate. You will manage forest roads, bridges, tracks and related infrastructure while coordinating with stakeholders to ensure safe, sustainable delivery.

You will mentor teams, drive engineering excellence, and contribute to environmental stewardship and timber production targets across Wales.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in engineering or related subject.
• Experience in programme or multi-project management with accreditation progress.
• Understand environmental and health, safety, and risk management framework.

Responsibilities

• Lead a rolling five-year civil engineering programme for forest infrastructure.
• Develop feasibility studies and tender-ready project packages.
• Coordinate with Local Planning Authorities and SuDS bodies.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to staff.
• Ensure projects meet safety, environmental, time and budget targets.
