Job summary

United States Forest Service is seeking a fire dispatcher to support wildfire suppression within a National Forest. The role is assigned to a fire crew as part of the fire management organization with the primary purpose of dispatching for fire response and related operations.

Qualifications

• General experience of six months in any type of work showing ability to perform the job.
• Six months of specialized experience directly related to the position.
• Completion of 2 years of study that includes courses in forestry, agriculture, natural resources, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a fire dispatcher in support of fire suppression activities.
• Assisted in filing and retrieving documents in a dispatching office.
• Assisted in receiving and processing requests for equipment, personnel, and supplies in conjunction with wildland fire and emergency incidents.
