Qualifications

• California Registered Professional Forester (RPF).
• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of professional forestry experience.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience.
• Experience developing, planning, implementing and monitoring forestry projects (timber harvest, fuels reduction, reforestation).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ArcGIS.
• Valid California driver's license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee forestry programs and staff.
• Manage departmental budgets, grants, and reporting.
• Coordinate with CAL FIRE, USFS, local agencies, tribes, and nonprofits.
• Ensure CEQA/NEPA and permitting compliance for forestry projects.
• Lead policy development and training within the department.
