Job summary

Larimer County seeks a Crew Lead to supervise a small team of experienced sawyers on wildfire mitigation and restoration projects. You will ensure safety, quality, and program compliance while engaging with the community through outreach activities. This temporary role runs 8:00 a.m.

to 4:30 p.m., Monday–Friday, with an anticipated end date in early May 2026. Certification requirements include S212 Feller A by hire date, First Aid, and a valid driver’s license, with Wilderness First Aid

Qualifications

  • S212 Feller A certification required by hire date; B preferred.
  • First Aid certification required by hire date; Wilderness First Aid preferred.
  • Valid driver's license by hire date.
  • Experience in supervising and safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of temporary staff during daily work.
  • Oversee wildfire mitigation, environmental restoration, and biomass management.
  • Operate light equipment such as chainsaws, brush chippers, and wood splitters.
  • Represent the program at community events and meetings with residents and partners.
  • Complete logs, incident reports, and required documentation.
  • Maintain crew safety and lead accountability.
