Job summary

The New York Department of Environmental Conservation is hiring a Forester 1 (or Trainee 1/2) to support the Division of Lands and Forests from its Central Office in Albany. The role focuses on forest management across more than 800,000 acres of state forests and involves office-based work with occasional travel.

You will assist with forest certification, regional programs, project funding, timber sales review, and Unit Management Plans, collaborating with staff to maintain sustainable forestry

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in forestry or related field.
• For Forester 1: two years of professional forestry experience OR master's degree plus one year of professional forestry experience.
• Valid driver's license or ability to meet transportation needs of the position.
