Position Summary: This position will involve working on field and lab research projects for Forest Health and Silviculture labs. The position is stationed at the UGA Forest Health Lab on the UGA Tifton Campus. Tasks will include fieldwork, data entry in excel, taking precise field measurements, cataloging samples, applying pesticides, collecting samples, rating insect damage, etc.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position: Preferred experience is a high school diploma and at least one year of college experience. A Valid Driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies : Basic forestry or natural resources knowledge. The ability to use Microsoft Office. Detail oriented and responsible. Good communication skills.
This position requires fieldwork with exposure to biting/stinging insects and various weather conditions including hot, humid, cold, and rainy. The position will require the ability to easily traverse forested and off-trail conditions; bend, kneel, and reach often; and the ability to lift and carry at least 30 pounds. Driving may be required.
